After his "Year of Many Errors" launching products no one wanted, learning to code only to delete the work, and ruining relationships with people he respected, Clear was given one piece of advice: "Try things until something comes easily." He gave four or five business ideas two or three months each, taking freelance work to pay the bills, until one of them came easily — and that's the one he could focus on. The piece is a practical answer to the standard "just focus" advice: focus presumes you already know what to focus on, and you usually don't.
