How AIs See Our World

Architectural designer and writer Chenoe Hart argues that as AI agents start "seeing" the world — Face ID, driverless car perception, OpenAI's Operator using human web interfaces — our user interfaces are turning double-sided, requiring an inverse "XU" design. She introduces "reverse skeuomorphic perception": just as early GUIs disguised computers as desktops and folders, AI now perceives the physical world through computational metaphors (bounding boxes, labels, semantic tags), translating reality into the language of databases and producing a new, partial machine-view of human life.
