The current and the wind

A short post contrasting 'the wind' — breaking news, social-media sensations, and the thin layer of hype around us — with 'the current': the persistent, heavy forces like the educational-industrial complex, network effects, Moore's Law, and entrenched systems of class, race, and gender. Godin argues that the wind distracts us, but our real work lies in seeing past it and overcoming or changing the current.
